August 1 - Turning the corner of summer

IMG_4787.JPG

For teachers, the months of summer are like a weekend: Whatever days of June you have left is like Friday night, July is Saturday, and August is Sunday. Still 5 days left of this residency, but time can sometimes move more slowly at the beginning of an experience and speed up toward the end. Like at the beginning of summer you seem to have all the time in the world (an embarrassment of time that I don’t try to mention too often to my friends with ‘real’ jobs) but it seems to fall through your fingers in August. I’m trying to hold on to each day and squeeze out as many moments as possible.
