Congdon Family Sabbatical 2022 and Artist Residency programs in California, Ireland, and Italy

For 2022, I have been awarded a six-month sabbatical from the Dana Hall School, where I have taught for 20 years, and am currently the Head of the Visual Arts Department, and director of the Dana Hall Art Gallery. It is sponsored by the Congdon Family, established in 1984 with gifts from alumnae Jean Congdon Adams ’44, Elisabeth Congdon Mason ’50, and Dorothy Congdon.

I will continue to paint and work on a number of sculpture projects throughout this time and will be attending the Chalk Hill Residency program in Healdsburg, California January 31st - February 14th, Cow House Studios Residency Program in Wexford, Ireland February 28th - March 13, and the Residency at La Macina di San Cresci, in Florence, Italy April 25 - May 8th. I will be showing the new work, along with other pieces from the Legend of the Pianista series, at the Bromfield Gallery On Harrison Street in Boston this October, 5-30. The Opening Reception is Friday, October 7th, part of the “First Friday” series of Openings for Boston galleries.

(Thursday, May 18th this year, 4-8) Doug Lack, the fabulous art teacher and gallery director there has been kind enough to allow me to bring the Pianista Cabinets of Curiosity on the road to Studio 370. For those who didn’t see the show in Boston in October, stop by the exhibit; I’ll be in the gallery from 6:30-8:00
