Planting Seeds

Getting excited and having a bit of trouble sleeping, so working on some images for some paintings; this a new character “The Pianista Mallard King” for one of the free-standing frames I’m made, with background leaf unpainted to look (kinda) like a gilded icon or other medieval something or other.

Also, still doing projects out in the yard and elsewhere. Cleaning the workshop in an on-going plan to use the concept of “Swedish Death Cleaning” (only without the dying part) to keep from becoming the subject of a reality tv hoarding show.

And literally planting seeds in the yard. Of course in painting you have to plant metaphorical seeds weeks or months ahead since it takes so dang long. Who knows if this grass and these paintings will take root; might need more manure. Reminds me of a colleague’s story of a student who came into science class after English and said “GOD, I HATE metaphors! It’s like a heavy load weighing me down….” Yep, irony free.

Too hot to write anything more interesting than that. That’s alright: it’s only Day 2.
